Mr. Fouther started designing note cards in the early 1980s. After a brief stint at the then new “Portland Saturday Market,” various community events and local stores he decided to create a full line of what is now his signature work.
The cowerie shell once historically used as money and adornment by many cultures represents a symbol of wealth in many of Mr. Fouthers creations.
